Privacy Policy

The Equine Vet is a paid reference app. To provide accounts and a one-time purchase, we store a small amount of data on our servers, and keep your horses’ health records on your own device. This policy explains exactly what is held where.

Account data (on our server). When you create an account we store your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), whether you have purchased access, and a list of the devices you have signed in on (a random per-device identifier and a rough label such as “Windows · Chrome”) so we can enforce the 3-device limit. This is stored in our database (Neon, hosted in Sydney, Australia). We use a login cookie to keep you signed in.

Payments. The one-time purchase is processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. We keep only your purchase status and Stripe’s customer reference so we can confirm your access. See Stripe’s privacy policy for how they process payment data.

Your horses’ records stay on your device. All passport information — horse names, vaccination/worming/dental/medical logs, weights, vital signs and notes — is stored locally in your browser (or the app’s private on-device storage). It is not uploaded to our servers.

Excel exports. If you export a horse’s records to a spreadsheet, the file is created on your device and only leaves it if you choose to share it (for example, emailing it to your vet).

What we don’t do. No advertising networks, no analytics/tracking SDKs, and we do not sell or share your data. Hosting is provided by Vercel.

Your choices. You can remove a device from your account at any time on the Account page. To delete your account and the data we hold about it, email us at the address below.

Children’s privacy. The Equine Vet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy. If we change the data practices described here, this page will be updated with a new date.

Your rights & how to reach us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the account data we hold, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing the address below. See also our Terms of Service.
